I'm working on a 65.I'm using the drag link from a 64 because I had it and it was in great shape along with the spindles from a 64.My question is can I use a 65 v-8 pitman arm with the 64 drag link. All the parts are manual steering
Thanks

The 65 front suspension was put on cars starting Jun. 10, 64. Anything after that date and before that date is different.

I had issues w/my steering and one of the guys gave a really good site to review. Check it out by typing Falcon steering conversion. In a nutsheel, they said to use '65 Falcon componants as they are cheaper: the pitman arm is such that the 65 center link on the drivers side end has the stud on that end and it goes into the arm. The pitman arm is thus an arm with 2 holes: 1 for a 1" pitman arm and the other for a smaller stud. I understand that the '64 V8s had 1 1/8 pitman arm shafts w/power steering. But the pitman arm, center link, inner tie rod ends (you can reuse the adjustment sleeves) and outer tie rods are listed in that article. The 65 inner tie rods are the same as the 65 Mustang, but the center link IS DIFFERENT. Its too long!! Ask me how I know. Anyway, I am not sure about the outer tie rods as my 64 Falcon spindles took an outer tie rod that the tie rod stud is larger than the 65 Falcon. The article lists the part #s you ned. Sorry I don't have the link, but look back about 2 weeks ago in the Falocn forum & the link is there from one of the guys. The link lists the outer tie rod as over $76 each. they are right hand threads, so don't get mixed up. The inners are left hand (either side) and the ouers are right handed. This info is for manual steering.
