1) Regarding the editing older posts. I don't recall it being that way, it'll certainly be something the new operators of the forums can address.

2) Cornhauler, "Surely" you do not understand the interworkings and behind the scenes aspects of FordMuscle. But don't take it from me. Why not contact Dennis Henry himself via PM to adjust your sour opinion of how we have treated those who contributed greatly to FordMuscle.

Re: Announcement from FordMuscle.com

What are you phricking babies CRYING ABOUT????

I just got back from my first ever vacation in a 16 year marriage and 43 year life, and I see a bunch of WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA....

You all crying about the admins FINALLY doing something with their work of the last 10 years and FINALLY gaining a little time for themselves make me sad for you.

I say Congratulations to the boy's on finally having the opportunity to take some time to be with your FAMILIES!
Thanks to Jon and Chirag and everyone else that put many many hours of their own life into FM to help keep it going nicely!

The MAJORITY of the comments so far have come from members/users that contributed absolute NOTHING to this site. Come off it you morons, members since 2002 and 2004 and 2008 and LESS than 100 Posts to your credit bitching about the FM change without taking any time to see what's actually changing???? YOU are complaining about the Forums and site being managed by another entity???? Shut up.

Go back to your lurking and let things happen. If it's for the best, GREAT, if it's for the worse, Great! Can't anyone then claim it wasn't a good ride while it lasted?

ALL good things come to an end, FM has NOT come to an end by any means, I mean looky here, you were able to sign on and come read this weren't you?

Many of you have embarrassed me with your posts to this topic! And i am not an easy person to embarrass and frankly I'm disappointed with the crying about the Advertisements also!

I rarely even see the adverts on this site, I dont' pay attention to them because they're side bars and little green mouse pass pop-ups, so easy to avoid looking at or ignore that a 3rd grader with ADHD wouldn't be bothered by them.

WISE UP retards, why would FOMOCO find it necessary to go advertise on a FORD enthusiast website? It's kind of redundant don't you think? Redundancy is a waste of time and money. Why say FORD FORD FORD on a site made up primarily or FORD folk? Ford should spend their time advertising on Toyo sites and isuzu and Chevy sites the way SMART advertisement works. Like some of our Text alerted advertising were you say TAMPON and the next ad is for KOTEX... It's all relative, and I feel that you all should grow up and accept it. The site needs advert money to pay the pee-ons, and you need the pee-ons to keep the site up so you can bitch about stupid schitt like the price of a car or a paint job for $12,000 like you see me doing every other week.

So shaddup, relax, and don't bitch about schitt until AFTER the bad crap you are all imagining actually happens.

I am NOT the longest standing member, but I am the most opinionated, the most vociferous, the most callous when need be, and I love hanging here with each and every one of you!

So stay around and bitch abotu something worth while, like me talking so goddamn much.

I'm back and I'm ready to bitch about something!
This thread is NOTHING to bitch about, but your comments were. (Barring PSIG's and a couple others which were simply just questions about rights, and entirely valid) the rest was just whiny bitches crying about their fear of change, which I hope is going to prove baseless. Let's do this

FEandGoingBroke

P.S. I even like the whiny bitches here, even the ones that only post once every 2 years, because you're all still part of FM even though a small part.

Found this, not sure if it answers your question

The use of any such material on any other web site, ftp server or network environment is prohibited.
Since we have not recieved an answer to this, I would like to bring up an Intellectual Property Rights statement that is WAY more friendly to the users. Everyone READ BOTH and then ask why one is WAY different.

Intellectual Property

You also grant us global nonexclusive adaptation and resale rights over any content and material submitted to the Site. We will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by a user through the user's reliance on information and advice gained on the Site.
Ask why in one the forum owns and controls the rights, and in the other one the forum is granted a licence from you the owner??

We need this to change!

Re: Announcement from FordMuscle.com

I was away for the weekend and only had limited computer access. I am working on a long list of to do's for the forum today as I am reading through all that is posted here.

Because I hold rights, and I am willing to share the information with others as I choose, much of it appears on this site by my choice. If providing a forum to share this information in exchange for decades of accumulated knowledge buys rights, especially without overtly offering your conditions in advance as part of your inferred 'contract', we all need to talk. Here. In public.

I am not initially concerned by the change in hands (nor by Dodge ads), as much as by the effort I have made recently to prepare a substantial number of Tech Articles to submit, and I hope that the atmosphere is not now toxic for those that wish to freely share their knowledge for the sake of others, only to have it taken for purely reasons of monetary profit from those that did not provide the intellectual property.
David,

Could you expand on this "pre-publish" concept? Do you mean that you first post your articles somewhere else, such as a private website or blog? What does pre-publishing do for you? Does it somehow preserve your rights to the content?

Thanks,

Re: Announcement from FordMuscle.com

I am not sure what is wrong with the intellectual property statement we have up when you sign up to the forum. The content you post is yours to post elsewhere there is nothing wrong with that. It looks pretty clear to me the way it was explained. The info is posted to share with other people on this forum and well anyone who searches it out on the internet. If you posted it to share it I don't understand where there should be paranoia about it being on the site. we have not and will not republish and sell your posts or threads.

As far as editing posts after they are posted. Why after a month you would need to go back and edit something when its just as easy to add it to the thread if you have new information or new photos continue the article. Changing editing and removing information from these threads will mess up the order on the site. This messes with searching for data and will hurt the forum in the long run. I realize there already was some knee jerk reactions to remove information from posts really with intentions of spite for changes to the forum while at the same time bumping a for sale thread. Selfish actions like this only go to hurt the forum and the community.

I am actively working on sorting out any changes and improvements that need to be made to the forum with the staff this week.
