Re: Announcement from FordMuscle.com

They need some time to work things out maybe? Since it was broken before with only Jon, Chraig and a couple others running the site it's harder to take car of with more people around....

Right?

Re: Announcement from FordMuscle.com

Hmmmm funny how that works. Kind of like other organizations - mostly run by a few folks in the trenches and it goes well until the big wigs get involved. I am optomistic, but still nice to know what is going on.
You would think in some business plan, a transition plan would have been ready to go in order to keep things moving.

Re: Announcement from FordMuscle.com

Tech articles should be up and running soon. We are working with FATNFAST on this to get the ball rolling again. There was a lot to do to separate the two sites even after the announcement and there is still more that will be happening. This is being discussed with the staff currently and updates will be posted when we are ready.

Re: Announcement from FordMuscle.com

Thanks for finally letting us know what's going on!

You know something? We're such a close group that you all can drop us a note now and then telling us that This or That will be broken until xxx in the future or that "we're working on a fix for something and that something else might be effected, etc.."

That will keep out bitching and groaning and "I told ya so's" to a minimum.

But right now you're giving us a LOT to bitch about by keeping silent and anonymous at the same time.

It really is only a few keystrokes to personalize your ADMIN moniker to make each of you a different entity, thus making you a little more personable to those of us that are here for operation enduring freedom, for this transition.

You know, Admin 1 and 2 and 3 and so on. Even that is better than all of you being the same and none of us knowing if you're the same tard from yesterday or someone totally different that dont' know what we're talking about. You do "get it" don't you?

Plus it let's us know that you're human and that you also give a crap about our needs.

I am indeed human. The majority of the time you will see me on the board if its the administrator account. If you all feel strongly that you do not want to see an account called "Administrator" I will add a second account with my own name and use that. The "Administrator" account will always stay no matter what since the system admins need an account to log into when there is a security issue, a major bug in the forum somewhere or just testing for a new tool or plug in to be installed.

I had a list of other issues to work on with the staff before we worried about confusing people with another admin account. FATNFAST is in communications with our resident tech exchange expert "Don" on getting that all back up and running. Don is an admin on all our classic car and muscle car forums and runs and builds tech exchange areas for some of these sites.

Re: Announcement from FordMuscle.com

You don't have to create a NEW name.

This post makes me think there are fewer admins than I originally believed.... Which was 3 new ones...

A simple Number or Letter or name following your Admin moniker would suffice to make you much more human and individualistic and believable than an automaton like singular moniker of Admin.

Ford Muscle has up until now been run by a Group of Individuals. I am simply strongly suggesting that you all become another Group of Individuals, and not just a few folks standing under one name.

It makes for much more personal communication even though you may be addressing the ENTIRE group of us at any given moment. And our ability to listen more openly and treat you more human like will increase the more human you appear. Becoming individuals (with a singular goal of course) will enhance your ability to communicate with us and will definitely cut the rancor dramatically.

I don't believe that "the majority of the time" will suffice, and that you would show a lot of grit and character by becoming someone "in Addition to" the Administrator. Not that we want you to change, we or "I" rather, (since I speak for FE & for Falconaround only) simply need to see that the new owners care in a personal way about our site. (And this place grows on you so I'm sure you will sooner or later)

That's all I wanted to impart. If you make decisions, then you need to be a person standing there with the Admin authority. It makes it easier for us all to communicate, if that Admin is also a Bill or Ted or Admin #2 or Admin Monacle mind, etc... You get the notion?

Re: Announcement from FordMuscle.com

I get what you are saying.

I am the community manager for this site. Auto Guide has A Lot of sites. We also have system admins and techs that are here just to make sure the lights stay on. They occasionally need to log in as a forum admin to check for bugs and test things. the site was owned by a company that was owned by three individuals that ran the whole site. They sold the forum to focus on the editorial side of things and put time and energy into what they love. The forum always had moderation and admin staff that was picked from the membership. I am trying to work with them to keep the site running the membership happy and upgrade the site to make your experience here more enjoyable. The main person you will deal with for as long as I remain employed by Autoguide is still me.

Re: Announcement from FordMuscle.com

Cool, just suggest to Autoguide that WE would like that anyone Posting an answer or a Question on THIS site anywhere become and Individual, so that it allows us piece of mind.

It's only fair as your rules make US each sign on as individuals, no two people have the same name for us, thus is should be for anyone from Autoguide whom chooses to Post a thread or Reply to a question or thread.

That prevents Falconaround from PM'ing Admin -George- about a question he had for Admin -Phil- since George will have no clue what he's talking about.

I truly believe that this behavior, if implemented now, will Heighten the public image of Autoguide, and might even help bring back members we've lost due to Autoguides Past performance in taking over other auto related sites.....

The reputation of a company greatly depends on how it treats it's customers, and how human they attempt to be. Let's get this started off well, and send this note to YOUR bosses and see if they give the tiniest little schitt about what WE care about and why WE are still here in the first place. If they choose to ignore it that's fine.
Their interest is very likely in their pockets anyhow, but I hope they remember that MY pockets are the Pockets that line THEIR pockets... (along with the adverts of course...)

I'm starting to like you a little, so keep up the good communication.

Well if FE sort of likes you, your doing good. To boil it down, my comment about the movie Office Space, with all the admin stuff and big buyout, I sit here and think I am writing to a cubicle farm, or better yet that comercial where someone brings food into the cubicle farm. Very impersonal. Even though I have never laid eyes on Dennis11, FE, Fordnut, and others, I feel I know them to some level. Ditto with FATNFAST and the admin folks.
