What is the black knob that is under the dash directly below the ignition switch on my 1964 galaxie?

Ejection seat. It's how convertibles are made.

We know everything.... hit us with another!

THe knob could be for the pass. floor vent, or maybe an aftermarket hazzard switch to replace a broken one?

Is it electrical or Cable?

That's what I was thinking it was. Mine used to have one before it went through a couple owners and to me. Got removed sometime but can't remember if it was actually below the ignition though.
Maybe a nother possiblity(that spelling doesn't look right) is the fan switch quit working so they put a knob in to replace it. Don't think that would be in that location either.

Mine has a choke knob under the dash. Is it a push / pull knob or a knob that you turn

I didn't know I even HAD that knob until the day I kept blowing the radio fuse every time I used the turn signals. It seems that the flasher relay laid on top of the wiring to that fader, and kept shorting. I spent several hours trying to track that problem down, and felt really stupid when I figured out what it was.....

Swing away doesn't have a knob or anything. Just put it in park and slide it over.
