Re: Post Pics of your Galaxies

Yeah I wasn't sure if it came blacked out like that as mine of course is all just the aluminum color. I thought about maybe blacking it out but I am not sure it would look good on mine. Try to make it to that show cause its a good big show.

Re: Post Pics of your Galaxies

Very nice! I love 65's. My very first car 40 years ago was a 65 four door sedan and I wished it was a 2 door at the time. I love the black, very sharp car.

In early spring 2014 I'll be looking for a beautiful 1963.5 Galaxie 500 XL 4 speed in pristine condition. This was the first car I ever drove and I'd like it to be the last car I ever drive.

Nice.

In 1965, my friend bought a 65 Galaxie convert (we both worked for Ford).

The stupid dealer told him that he couldn't get a bucket seat 4 sp, so he wound up with a silver Galaxie 500, 4 sp, 390/300. Nice car. I would trade cars every now with him when going to the drive-in movie.

My 65 Corvette for his 65 Galaxie.

He never turned me down, and I was very glad that he didn't get a bucket seat car. (LOL)

Here's my 63 1/2 marauder. Unfortunately I still had the old wheels on it in the photo so there's over spray on the tire lol

Nice car, that future driver looks pretty happy about it too.

Re: Post Pics of your Galaxies

Hello all! Excited, I've had my '66 Galaxie 500 XL convertible about one month now. Previous owner had it in their family since 1968. 390/4bbl. Sauterne Gold exterior, lite Ivy interior. Mechanically in very good shape, runs solid, top works great. I'll have some projects for sure, but that is what makes it enjoyable. I think she's a beauty! I look forward to getting great advice from these Galaxie pages.

Wow! Very nice original Gal. Good to find one that had been with the original owners so long.

Your car and your paint are simply amazing! You do fantastic work and should be very proud of that girl. Beautiful car.

Re: Post Pics of your Galaxies

first classic car, I used to be a biker, but my leg was partially severed last august in a wicked wreck. I decided that if I want to have my hair in the breeze that this might be a little safer lol. 1967 500, she has her good points and bad points, but she (finally) runs good, and after 4 days of buffing and polishing and glazing and waxing, the finish will suit me an Mama just fine. I already pulled the dash, and am currently painting it to match the rest of the car, I'll post pics of that when I'm done.

Re: Post Pics of your Galaxies

Hmm, never thought of getting rid of the flaps...that might just clean the lines up a bit, thanks for the suggestion!
