Their site looks pretty cool and it seems that they seem to know their way around these old Fords. Have any of you used their rebuild services? And if so, please share your experience; Good? Bad? Average?
I thought the same thing but after I sent off my Steering box and the old man kept putting me off I decided to just find another used one and he ended up keeping mine. I'd say it was atleast 6 weeks before he called me back and said it was done and during that time I would call him weekly and he wouldnt answer or call back. Personally I would stay away and spend a little more money and go somewhere else unless you live close and you personally go to his shop and speak with him in person.
UUUGH! That's disappointing. Do you recommend a rebuild shop with good credentials? Perhaps someone who has the same knowledge and experience with our old Fords as this guy claims to have?
Haven't used them yet but when the old F150 gets done I want one of the redhead boxes on it. Ford truck guys swear by them. https://www.redheadsteeringgears.com/
I was going to Seattle for the day, dropped the core off at Redhead in the morning, and had the rebuilt steering box back in the afternoon. No issues with it since then either (about 5 years ago)
That'll probably be where I send mine when its time. Definitely stay away from Stangerssite.
