Factory worker's note found under front carpet

I was pulling out the carpet the other day on my totally original 66 Galaxie and found this hand written note under the front passenger foot area. Looks like a factory worker was adding up some numbers and left his note on the floor of the car. It's now stuck down and if I tried to remove it it would peel away in small pieces so I'm just leaving it.

Just thought it was interesting to find a hand written note from an auto assembly worker that's over 50 years old in my car. Anyone else come across stuff like this in your car?

Almost as good as finding a beer can in the door panel. Lol

Re: Factory worker's note found under front carpet

When I worked at Wixom Assembly in the 90's, it was pretty common that the floor pan wouldn't be clean before the carpet was installed. Not usually with hand written notes, but various wrappers or tape.

Other things that were common were substitution of fasteners by the line workers. One guy's job was to install the fuel filler neck, secure the carpet, and I think secure one other item. Each of which required a different screw. He used fuel filler neck screws to secure everything.

Re: Factory worker's note found under front carpet

Years back I pulled the carpet out of a'70 Cougar I had. Found a green wax paper coffee cup under the carpet. Clearly my car must have been an early morning production. He just finished his coffee and tossed the cup in the car!
