While cleaning the dash on my newly acquired 66 Galaxie 7 Litre I noticed a light to the left of the drivers air vent knob, and just above the parking brake release. It's probably a stupid question but I'm still learning about this animal. So can anyone tell me what the heck it's for? Thanks.
If the lamp installs from the front, then gluing the lens would make it much more difficult to change the lamp when it burns out. It may have been a friction, or snap fit, which may be why it has fallen out. If the socket can come off from behind the dash, separate from the lens bezel in the dash, then that should permit lamp changes and gluing the lens in the bezel would seem like a good fix.
