Looking for 31 spline axles

Howdy!
I just ordered up a fancy new third member for my galaxie. Quickperformance sent
me a brand new 3.5:1 ratio pumpkin with traction lock. I ordered the 31 spline rear
because based on the look of my rear axle register, I assumed they were 31 spline. Wrong.

28 spline. Thats what I get for not counting splines. Oops. So I'm looking for a set of 31 spline that will fit a '66 Galaxie. Or did they ever come with 31 spline? Maybe the 7 liter or the 390 with the police package? I'm already leaning toward the cut to fit route, but I'd prefer to keep the budget down. Thanks! Oh and fyi, you get a cool new menards bucket with every third member purchase from Quick Performance!

Re: Looking for 31 spline axles

Probably need to give Moser Engineering or Strange Engineering a call. They both offer quality aftermarket axles at a decent price. Just don't expect 'junkyard' prices. Good Luck

Did you get 11 percent off for everything in the bucket?

I'd go back to QP for the axles.....

Re: Looking for 31 spline axles

Check your axle lengths . IIRC there was a Mustang 31 spline axle that would work in the Galaxie housing. I'll look in the Ford master Parts Catalog I have when I get home tonight to look at what they show for lengths.

DUTCHMAN axles also make some very good products.

Good to hear as the Galaxie is all by itself as far as axle length! The 71-73 is the longest Mustang/ Torino 31 spline axle out there but is still short by almost an inch. Good job!
