Just bought a 1968 Galaxy 500 convertible

Guys bought her 2 days ago. Body is 100% complete and all body panels line up amazingly. Driver side trunk has a little hit in the trunk trim. There is also a small ding in the passenger quarter at the top body line. Antenna is missing and back glass window is there but only attached on the top. She cranks fine but havent starter her yet. The top of dash has some cracks and the top of the rear seat is ripped in the center. It's an original 390 2 bbl and has under 50k miles. 2 owner car
Plans are to make an inexpensive weekend cruiser. Switching to an HEI ignition, buff out older repaint, add wheels and tires (still has bias ply) maybe a dual exhaust. Add the antenna Have back window reset and cruise it. There is NO rust on the car in the trunk or on the floor pans.
My concern is the frame rails that run under the doors. There is rot but it feels like above the rot on the bottom of the rails there is solid steel.?.?.? Havent got her up off the ground yet but the deal was TO GOOD to pass up.

Congrats!

Frame rails on these cars like to rot.

Can be fixed, but can be a ton of work, depending on how bad the rot, and how nice you want it to look.
