Rod Run to the End of the World

I was at this event this past weekend in Long Beach WA and somewhere in the crowds along the street I heard that's the Shotrod or something to do with shotrod but sighting an individual is almost impossible! Very few know me or the car by that name so had to be someone from here. By the way I saw several 64 galaxies, it was awesome!! When i get my pics all figured out I'll post them. One nice blue convertible I spotted near Ocean Park and my sister hadn't made it to WA yet and she texted me and said they saw one near Warrenton oregon a while later. There were 2 different blue ones and we never saw that one again. Must of been heading for Seasides' show or just out for a drive.

Long Beach event is the best ever! Didn't do actual show but i cruised thursday through saturday and they were still going on sunday i believe. 14.5 mpg down to 8!

Always be yourself, because the people that matter don't mind, and the ones who mind, don't matter.

ShotRod, your car is so recognizable and cool I could see that shout out happening big time. The cruise is always so cool even without the car show. --- Ya know in fact I may not enter another car show unless I know in advance the official trophy classes. I have a survivor/driver car that I will never restore fully and enjoy just driving it to cruise spots and it looks very 60's. My shows so far give trophy's to high class/dollar cars only. That's cool, they deserve it. I have a unrestored car (minus newer basic paint) and would like competing in maybe a nostalgia or time capsule type class that recognizes what its all about. That would be fun. But when you have "simply the top twenty" which means dollars spent and chrome, what's the use.

Re: Rod Run to the End of the World

Thanks! I don't think mine will have much more done to it, someone else can do it when I'm done enjoying it! I paid to enter the show in long beach but only stopped and got the packet as I decided I'd rather cruise around than sit for 2 days in a show. If i get a trophy it's usually for under construction or halloween it does for the decorations. It was last year that I won in a place that no cars like mine ever win and that was best engine and another for under construction. It stirred up a lot of trouble for the poor lady that runs and sets the show up who has nothing to do with the judging. She got a lot of hate email over the cars that won as there were a couple of us that were shocked to win something there. I mainly go to shows just to gab with friends.

Saturday I decided to go to a show at the last minute and my "top" was still up from the ride home from long beach. But a guy near me had an interesting top and i had to give him kudos for ingenuity. It was hefty bags and duct tape then heat gun to shrink it all. hahaha Also a man was looking for me there who claimed he was Junior Johnson's cousin. I should of got a pic darn it! Oh well. He had a good story to tell.

Just keep driving your car and enjoying it. No need to worry bout the others, just have fun visiting friends and making more friends. That's all I do! I should of got a closer pic of this top.
