67 ford galaxie help

I have a 67 ford galaxie 500 that came with a 289. I am attempting to put in an 390 engine from a 61 thunderbird. I am having issues with the motor mounts. I read that I might have to use different mount brackets but not sure which to purchase. Does anyone know which ones they are?? I looked at FE BB brackets but had so many come up that don't look alike. Also what other parts might i have to change out?? Thank you

You may have already received an answer on this in another thread but I'll offer some thoughts. Below are pictures of the FE big block motor mounts - they bolt straight to the frame. There are also pictures of the motor mounts (rubber insulated and bold directly to the motor) themselves and bare block.

I suggest if you upload a picture of the side of your block showing the bolt pattern - someone could point you to what you need. There were changes to the pattern between the years you mention as well as the mounts can actually be installed incorrectly - found this out the other day when I realized my motor was not sitting correctly in the bay. I had the sides flipped (pass & driver), yet they bolted up fine (upside-down). Easy switch but the point is that the mounts line-up on the block holes multiple ways.

Other things to consider about moving to a big block (I have a 289 '67 Gal that I am looking to do this with as well).
Springs and shocks - I imagine the load rating on front springs is different between the two engines. Engine accessory clearances - I would imagine there is plenty of room but fan/radiator clearance the same?
Starter - will old mount up or have one for BB, Radiator - more cooling needed for the BB?
Not trying to discourage it but just some thoughts I've considered thinking about the same swap.

Keep us posted on how she goes!

Re: 67 ford galaxie help

this is a picture of the engine block it has only two holes compared to the ones from the picture .... I have had issues finding ones that will fit maybe I need to make some custom mounts ?? the ones from the Thunderbird did not work and neither did the ones I bought for the 67
