Modifications
Drivetrain
I've had several different drivetrain combinations in the car over the years, including 4 and 5 speeds, but I finally settled on the C4 auto as my favorite. Current motor is a 332" stroker, built in 1999.
Interior
Mostly stock. These stock seats are the most comfortable I've ever sat in.
Exterior
Removed front bumper to shed 90 lbs of weight, and I built a custom hood with the addition of a bonded mini cowl scoop. I removed a large section of steel support(saved weight) when I cut out the hole in the hood. The support is now unneeded with the added rigidity of the glassed-on scoop. The new cowl hood helps with radiator airflow, it gives much needed air cleaner clearance, and it looks cool.
Audio
Small radio, only used when parked. The motor is too loud to hear the radio when it's running. And who wants to hear anything over the engine, anyway?
Suspension
King Cobra springs front and rear, poly bushings, all new front end parts. Rear housing is a 9" from a 1959 Thunderbird with 3.10 gears and locker carrier, and the front rotors were converted to 5 lug, also. I installed a Pinto manual steering rack, for a large weight savings, and no more power steering pump, and at 2350 lbs, there's no need for power steering anyway. The car handles very well, and the manual rack gives me a great feel for the road.
Wheel and Tire
17" Cobra R wheels, with 275/40ZR17 tires.
