History Brooklyn NY car from Morlee dealership.
I think I am second owner. Was 170 6 cylinder 2 speed now has 1997 Mountaineer GT40P and 4R70W. Does a great one-wheel burnout or will cruise 75mph at 2000rpm. Decent old crate.

No Mods here. Baby fins and half a century of patina

Smells like wet dogs, cigars, sweat and farts, aged and mellowed to perfection. Found cool stuff in the glove box.

Mods presently include a PCM stashed behind the heater box. No pictures on that yet

AM radio with one speaker. Guess it was fine for Frank Sinatra.
Might need to add a FM converter

The GT40P and 4R70W fit easily in the Meteor but getting it to run and drive required several interfaces to be figured out
Here are some of the challenging interfaces:
Electrical system must integrate 1997 engine with 1963 switches and instrumentation
Fuel System must feed the EFI correctly and draw from the stock gas tank pick up
Exhaust must fit the body and the GT40P sparkplug orientation, EGR, and O2 sensors
Cooling System radiator must fit the body and cool the GT40P
4R70W with larger drive shaft yoke and longer tail housing must connect to the stock 8-inch diff
Stock gas pedal must operate the EFI throttle body
Stock P-R-N-D-L shifter must actuate the 4R70W P-R-N-D-2-1 pattern
Transmission mount must support the 4R70W
Engine mounts must locate the engine correctly and hold the torque of the GT40P
Shock tower struts must clear the GT40P plenum
Various other brackets needed to mount new components

Suspension
1963 Mercury Meteor Suspension
had a broken spring in the drivers side front. Installed coils for 390 FE

Wheel and Tire
Not sure yet. I have three sets if wheels and it will be some combination of the three.
Stock 14x5 with 195/75/14 not much contact for the rear
Stock Mountaineer 15x7 with 215/60/15 (fit the rear but won't clear upper ball joints in front)
Crown Vic 16x7 with 225/50/16
