Vintage drag racing boss 302

A buddy of mine purchased a falcon drag car, I think from the west cost. It's a beautieful car, maroon, full tube frame, I think a lenco trans, and the engine is a Boss 302 circa 70 I think. He wants to put an FE in it, and is offereing me the engine. From what I've been told, it's 13.5:1, cam: Unknown, Iron boss heads, crazy looking valvetrain, port plates to raise the exhaust ports, tunnel ram intake two 660 holley carbs, MSD ignition. The whole package, pan to ignition he wants to sell the engine to me for $4500. It looks like a ton of money went into this engine... I just don't know if with today's technology it is worth it, I could imagine that this is a 9000 rpm engine, but dang it's cool. Car was suppose to have gone low 10s all day long. My pal bought it, they fired it up, he got to hear it run, and he brought it back to ND, and has been sitting ever since with the rocker backed off.

If there are enough factory Boss parts on it, it could easily be worth that. You gotta look at unknown engines for value as if it is separate parts. JMO.

If the original heads and block are there... then yes.
If you do get it, list the VIN on BOSS302 registry... most likeky someone is trying to find it for thier restoration, or someone will pay for it to complete thier car.
Any pics?
