Re: Car films

I'm going to say Two Lane Blacktop is the greatest car flick ever and in my top ten of greatest movies ever.

Two that I love and haven't seen mentioned are Hot Rod Girl and Thunder Road. Great old black and white movies.

Re: Car films

One really special gem is Used Cars (1980) starring Kurt Russell. Columbia made the mistake of releasing it too close to Flying High (Leslie Nielsen). Everyone went to see Flying High and overlooked Used Cars. The few people that did see it, like myself, loved it!

Actually, Columbia was one of the few that released their movies on Beta.

There are a few vgood ones, I like Bullitt, Happy Days, and American Graffiti was 'Spot On'. Sure brings back memories of more care free times .

Re: Car films

How about "The Gumball Rally"? Anyone remember that one.
What about "Aloha Bobby and Rose". A few good car scenes in that one too.

I too, loved American Graffiti. Maybe my all time fav.

Also loved remake of Gone in 60 seconds. My favorite line is:

"Kip, man, that's not a tool. That's a brick!".

Re: Car films

Watched Rush last night, although its all F-1 racing, not our beloved Am. V-8;s, Ron Howard certainly captured the Feel & sounds of those European hot rods shifting a 10K!
turn up the sound, lovely!
Anyone seen the new one , Don Prudhome & ???, oh jeez, Snake & ?? someone will know, its just coming out here, anyone seen this one yet?
And, not mentioned yet, Heart Like a Wheel, I think its called, life & times of Shirley Muldowney

Re: Car films

Heart like a wheel is a good movie, been a long time since I'v seen it. I'v looked all over for the Snake vs Mongoose (Tom McEwen) movie and can't find it anywhere.
