purging A/C lines/condenser

I need to purge the A/C lines, condenser etc on my car but I don't have a compressor. Does anyone have a work around for this? Could I taper down the hose on my shop vac and use it?

I have a vacuum pump to do that job. The compressor failed so I need to blow it out to see if there are any metal chips anywhere in the pipes or parts. I made an attachment for my shop vac that should allow me to blow the lines, condenser and evaporator out. I'll put a piece of paper towel on the outlet of each part to see if there is any metal chips inside it. Thanks for your insight.
