Re: 69 cyclone

finally got my valve covers done, what a difference after polishing.took me quite a while to figure out how to put the drivers side cover on. the height of the cover dosent clear the power brake booster.loosened the 4 bolts on the booster and a little prying on it and it finally went on.

Re: 69 cyclone

while the car is out being painted I thought I would try my hand at restoring my floor console.istarted with 3 broken consoles in pieces and made one nice one in the end.it was tedious and time consuming but it turned out great.

Re: 69 cyclone

The Cyclone is looking good!

Could you explain more how you repaired the console? Did you use some kind of epoxy? How did it take to paint afterwards?

Re: 69 cyclone

I made a tin template in behind the breaks then bonded the tin to the plastic, while plastic gluing the cracks.let it set up then used a thin coat of filler over the crack, sanded lightly then primed with high solid primer.then painted with sem brand vinyl and plastic tuxedo black dye. repairs are hard to see,and almost impossible once in the car.time consuming but cheaper then buying another one..

Re: 69 cyclone

That's gorgeous. I had a 68 MX Brougham, best car I every had. Drove 200,000 on original drivetrain but IA winters took their toll until it could no longer be repaired. That's a great job you've done on your 69.
