Re: 66 Street/Strip Fairlane Restoration

Just returned from Rocky Mountain Race Week. Tons of fun, very little problems other than fuel heating issues, actually used 120 lbs of ice each day to keep the fuel temps under control. The best part was project Quick Henry averaged 9.90 for the week. Still working on getting the car to launch without blowing off the tires. Here is the best ET all week:

It's actually a T56 now, a TKO would have shown it's insides on the first hit!

Re: 66 Street/Strip Fairlane Restoration

Made some runs yesterday with a set of new MT stiff wall slicks with tubes, they worked well. Best pass to date:
9.69 @ 149.95
BUT still a pathetic 60' (1.61) for what it should do.

Apparently! Small steps get you there. Thanks for updating your signature. And—you'd better keep at it, or Dennis is going to catch-up with his asthmatic 434W.

Nice. You can hear the crowd loved it! I see you have more to squeeze out of it as she is, like some chassis reaction to tune. Too much fun!

Re: 66 Street/Strip Fairlane Restoration

I have been working on a leaf spring relocation (Crites) and mini-tub to get some more rear tire under it and hopefully get it to hook better.

Cutting out the old tubs

Slight notch to the frame rail

Trial fit, again and again and again

On to the leaf spring relocation:
Cutting out the old frame section to install the new spring front mount

New front mount installed

Offset rear shackle and trial fit of 28x12.50x15 MT tire, still loads of room!

Painted and cleared
