And none ever did come with a 302 4V in them or a 9" posi rearend. Now there was a few that did have some bigger engines as options in them. But they got really bad gas mileage.
And yes I do have a 69.5 Mav setting in my lot. VERIFIED, 59K miles

Ooops

Just remembered, my co-worker had the Maverick twin, the Mercury Comet, with the V8.

Like this one? But still no 302 4V or 9" in them.

Re: MAVERICK GRABBER!!!

Right, no 4v, but I have no idea about the rear end size.

Comet had some nice lines over the Maverick.

Re: MAVERICK GRABBER!!!

Mavericks and Comets (69-77) never had factory 4bbls, 9" rear ends or 4 speed transmissions. Frome 70 - on they had 8" differentials, 200,250, or 302 engines with only a 2Bbl on the 302. Some of the 8" differentials used a 4 lug axle until 73 when they all came with the 5 lug axles.

66 Mustang Coupe. 365hp, 4spd Toploader, sub-frame connectors
Shelby drop, suspension tuned for slalom and hill climb
body mods and weight reduced to 2000lbs; name: Muskrat

BUT!

MY 1971 Maverick 302 2V C-4 8" rear that I owned from 1983 to 1985 (The first car I ever bought with my own money) Was WHOOPED every weekend by a 1971 Maverick Grabber with a 302 BOSS and a 4V on it. I swear to God! Honest Injun!

It was that Beautiful Blue they had then, it had the Air Grabber hood, Rear Traction Bars, Giant 60 series 15" slick looking street tires, little 14" pizza tires on the front, even the hood pins looked good on it.

I raced him outside the town of Cleveland Utah every time I drove past if he was outside washing it. It was brilliant! It was a BOSS and it was a Grabber, and it was a 4V, and it kicked my ass lots!

The stranges thing is the kid and his father bought the car from FORD with the BOSS in it!
Special order maybe?

By 1975 the only boss out there was Boss Hog on re-runs of the Dukes of Hazzard....

FE
loved my blue 2door 76. it had the 302 and it could go. on a side note Dukes of hazzard didnt start reruns of its 1979 tv show till well into the 80's
