The mysterious container inside the driver side fender...?

Anyone know what the container inside the fender on the driver side is for? If you open the door of a Mustang II and look down the side of the car into the back end of the fender you can see a container for something... There's a tube that goes to it and it comes out of the fender by the door hinge hole on the driver side.

Re: The mysterious container inside the driver side fender...?

Sorry, I just returned today from a trip to Colorado Springs, CO. My older brother was having a promotion ceremony through the Air Force to Senior Master Sgt. and it was a 10 hour drive for me. xD I'll post it tomorrow. lol But on topic, I am pretty sure the hose that comes out of the canister goes to the air filter container.

Well it is a Cali car, so explains that. So taking it out won't hurt me any. That's what I was looking for. Thanks guys, problem solved.
