Sorry I could not read any more of the post after I saw MACH ! and V6 used about the same car....I was laughing to hard...
THIS IS FROM THAT THREAD..
i did this swap with a 74 that had the 2300 four cylinder with a manual 4 speed in it...i put a 289 v8 in with a c-4 auto
swap...had to remove the hood latch, and ac condensor and move the radiator
to right behind the grill and go with hood pins...i had a very very hard time routing my tranny coolant lines past my exhaust and at first because space was extremely limited, i kept overheating my transmissions,i finally had to run the tranny lines inside the frame rails(its a unibody so i had to drill holes) the good news was that the drive shaft was a perfect fit
,and i used it...the front of the car sat a little lower but it just made it look meaner....lol...also in order to clear the oil pan
i had to put 1/4 inch spacers between my front sway bar,and my frame where it bolted to it...i just used some 1/4 inch plywood and cut some small blocks out,and drilled holes for the bolts, and put them between the swaybar and frame and rebolted the whole thing...it actually stiffened the front end,so it handled fine...i never had a problem with the rearend,it held up very well to the torque and power...wish i could have swapped in some 15 inch wheels though...the 13's would spin and spin all day.
I have since replaced the v-8
with the 2.8 v-6,and like it much better beleive it or not...i kept the auto tranny, even though i still have the clutch pedal
JUST IN CASE i ever do decide to go back to a standard...heheheheh!
