t5 input shaft

I have a 95 mustang cobra with a worn out t5. I have a rebuilt t5 from a 83-93 mustang. I want to run this in my 95 cobra but the input shafts are different, the 95 being longer. Is there anyway to install the longer input shaft into the older t5. Can it be done, how hard is it to do. Thanks

Re: t5 input shaft

if its all the same and i believe it is, it is simple. Just take the 4 retainer bolts off the retainer, turn the input untill the cut out lines up and very carefully pull it out,
There will be some roller pins inside the hub so dont loose them. Measure everything up and if its the same re install it on the new t5
