Where to Get a good rebuilt 390 and what would be good mods for a daily driver?

Thanks for the advise. The heads have 2.03 1.55 valves with the larger 2.34 Intake ports. I also forgot to mention that my gear ratio is 2.79, I might switch to a 3.00 or 3.25 if it feels too slugish.

I can't offer any advice on that company or their rebuilds but I can on the engine... or at least try. I couldn't find any information on what size valves the heads come with?

Since it's going to be primarily a daily driver the 255DEH cam seems like a good choice. If not that then you should go with the 268H as that one seems to be pretty popular. The intake, cam and exhaust are going to let your FE breathe a lot, and that's what those engines really need.

Just my two cents on your question. You should try asking on the Ford FE forum just to see what some of them have to say too. www.FordFE.com

Has anyone bought a engine from this place? http://www.remanufactured-cylinder-h.../shipping.html I was thinking of getting a 66 390 from them to put in my truck. I like that they use new valvetrain parts, instead of old worn out stuff. Do yall think I should try an engine from them or go with a Napa engine? What would be a good cam shaft considering I drive it every day? I was thinking compcams 255DEH ( hears the link to the spec's http://www.compcams.com/catalog/174_175.html#Anchor )I also have a RPM intake, headers, 600CFM holley, dual 2.25 exhaust, eletronic ignition, and a new transmission with a stage one shift kit, that im going to use. ( I might also do some bowl work to improve flow )do yall think this would be good for a daily driver with 9.0:1 compression?
