Re: shelby drop?

Two stangs, I've heard that myself so I bought custom springs with the 1" designed out of it already.

Re: shelby drop?

When you cut the spring it makes it harder as well as shorter. Most guys that Iknow that tryed this were not happy with the ride and had springs made that were the right hight. cut springs ride harsh.

Hiya 420, I've got some 1" cut springs already and will take whatever drop these two things will give me. I plan on changing only one thing at a time to see just how the 66 handles and go from there.

Re: shelby drop?

Doing the shelby drop alone won't lower the car 1". Most report about 3/8-1/2" drop. The main reason for dropping the upper control arms an inch is vastly improved suspension geometry.

Combined with some cut springs you can get it lower.

shelby drop?

Hey Guys, I've been told there is a mod you can do to the 66 Fairlane to help lower it and not screw up the suspension geometry....it's called a Shelby drop. All your doing to lowering the upper control arm 1" and putting a 1" cut spring to achieve the lowered effect. Has anyone done this?
