Re: oil pan clearance issue

I used a Milodon 30925 oil pan and matching pickup, a Ford Racing Mini starter, a manual rack and shimed the motor up on the mounts about 3/16".

Re: oil pan clearance issue

The Mustang II used a special pan for the 302. The back of the pan was smaller and rounded. They were on Mustang II's only. You can try finding one on eBay, or there are a couple of Mustang II oriented website/forums that you could try as well.

oil pan clearance issue

I'm about to put the 302 back into the 78 mustang with c4 tranny, and the new oil pan I have sits on top of the steering rack before the engine sits on its mounts, and my starter wont fit back into the c4 small bellhousing.
which type of oil pan will work for me? or should i just hammer this one till everything fits?
