? are you talking about 56 f100 ..

If so you may look into a crown vic / town car the late model alum. bolt in type or 2000 and newer ranger.

crown vic / town car welding and bracket required.

Actually the front end under those isn't that bad if it's rebuilt. If your worried about the weight of a big block, a FE with a aluminum intake weighs the same about as a Y block.

front end swap

I am needing to put a better front suspension under the front of my 56 ford. It has a big block. I am trying to hold cost down but , still make a better driver. In stead of a mustang two or similar I am considering a subframe from either a twin I beam 1/2 ton ford or a front end off a 77 Mercury. All thoughts would be appreciated
