Re: 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 XL

I had a the same problem on a 77 Ranchero..
I checked ever wire, looking for something drawing current
I finally took it to a local Auto electric shop and he showed
me that it was the regulator draining back to the frame..
I installed a new regulator, and I never had the problem again..
and I stood there and watched him... so no funny business..

Re: 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 XL

I have the same car and the same problem.

If I leave the car alone for a couple of weeks the battery is dead.

After a year I need a new battery.

Hope someone has a clue to the problem.

Thanks in advance.

pull the battery and bring it inside, or put it on a battery tender
