newbie needs interior help-'74 Ranchero

Hi all,
I have a 1974 Ranchero 500 that I plan on restoring. I wanted to know if the sport door panels off of a 72-3 GTS will fit in place of my standard door panels. I also found a very nice dash pad out of a 75 Ford Country Squire for a very awesome price, but have never been too sure if anything off of the full size will interchange with the mid size cars of the same year models. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You might check a Dearborn online catalogue. It may tell what years door panels interchange.

You can interchange all interior parts from a 1973-1976 Torino, Squire Wagon, Limited, Ranchhero. As long as you remember that you only do the front seat forward.
The 1972 models were unique that year and won't interchange. Some Mustang and Lincoln parts will work, again caution and measure before using dash pad, instrument cluster, seats, door panels.

Hope this helps you out. You can also look up Dearborn Classics and LMC truck for parts and other items.

okay. so the dash pad off of a country squire would work then. The country squire wagon was based off of the LTD, so were they alike also. I just wanted to be sure before I bought it. It doesn't seem like people are wanting to get rid of this stuff very easily.

Re: newbie needs interior help-'74 Ranchero

Just finished restoring my 73' Ranchero. I used parts from 72-79 Torino, Montego, Esquire wagon, GTS, Limited and Mustang. As noted by several others here be very careful and measure everything you plan on using or want to swap. The only problem I found was with the duct work for A/C & Heater system. I had to get specific parts to match what I had. Including the compressor and brackets which were missing off my engine. Since then I have upgraded and went to a 94 EFI4.6L engine & 4AOD transmission out of a Mark 8. Wiring was tricky, but managed to fit it all in there with minor issues. Most door panels on Torino and Esquire from front only will interchange. Keep in mind, your working with a Torino chassis and the Ranchero is just that from doors forward. As for the back end your dealing with the station wagon per say.
