67 fairlane ranchero has a lean

I cannot figure out why my car leans about 1.5" front 1" rear on drivers side. I have new coil springs and bushing. new leaf springs and bushings in rear. I was thinking that would have fixed it but nope. Where should i start looking next and what might be causing this. Gonna go crazy if this thing doesnt sit strait. Thanks folks

Is the rubber bushings in the lower coil spring perch on the front upper control arm wore out? The front effects the rear.

I replaced the lower spring perches with new roller perches and rubber. Forgot to ad that to original post. The original spring perches and rubber were totally trashed. Could the control arm bushing be that bad that it sagging that much?

Still concerned about this lean. I am hoping to get some pointers on what to look for when i start taking things apart again.

Re: 67 fairlane ranchero has a lean

Did you tighten all the suspension bolts with the car up on stands and wheels off the ground, with the wheels "hanging" at full droop?

Long story short... you can't do that.

The car MUST be sitting WITH FULL WEIGHT on its wheels/tires on the ground when you tighten any/all the bolts that fasten control arms and leaf springs that have a rubber bushing in them.

Best practice is to loosen all suspension bolts that have a rubber bushing.

Put car with full weight on the ground.

"Bounce" the car several times front and back, to make sure it settles to ride height.

Crawl under and tighten all those bolts.

Re: 67 fairlane ranchero has a lean

I changed all the springs on my '67 Ranchero six years ago and I just measured it after reading your post. Mine is about 1/2" lower on the left side than the right. I figured that out to be from one person in the driver's seat 90% of the time ( after 6 years from when I did the change) No clue as to why yours with a recent change should be off so much.
Sorry,
