I had similar issues with a 302 (my were not firing correctly on 1467).
The problem was coming from the carb idle air mixtures. They were dirty/clogged even after rebuild the carb. Took them out...

For what its worth once I replaced my rear strut with a new one my problem went away.

Possibly try some heavier duty shocks? for the front and move the current ones to the rear if those...

Hello,

I suffered similar issues in a Mazda Protege but in the rear...
It was because the rear strut was blown and going over dip and deviations in the road at speed would cause the hole rear end...
