Re: 1969 Galaxie LTD 4 Door Purchase

Well you did good at that price! If you're pulling the tank I would definitely seal it, inside and out. Easy enough to do once you have the tank out. I used the POR15 tank sealer which is very...

Re: 1969 Galaxie LTD 4 Door Purchase

Well as they say a car is worth what someone is willing to pay. As it apparently has not been garage kept I would first carefully check the frame. They like to rust on these old Galaxies. They...

Re: 1968 Ford Galaxie XL New Owner info request

Yeah +1 on the Marti report Galaxiex suggested. Costs a few bucks but will tell you everything you'd want to know and not just the year, make and model but about your specific vehicle with exact...

Re: 66 Galaxie Gas Cap causing excess tank pressure

I've been meaning to ask the same or similar question myself. I have a 68 Galaxie I recently purchased. Whenever I go to get gas there's a huge pressure release when I open the cap. It doesn't...

Re: Car show thoughts

I've done more cruise-ins than shows so far. The local shows here are well attended (for a local show) but you get there at ten-ish and you're there till maybe 4:00. That's a long day away from...

Re: '67 500 - Fair price?

Of course any car is worth whatever someone will pay. I've seen some really nice '67's for a lot less than that one. For starters certainly for that price the paint should be great and the air...

Re: Booster questions.

Yeah Pirate Jacks is another good choice. I have looked at them myself. Good luck whichever way you go! I'd love to hear an update when you're done.

Re: Booster questions.

To clarify from the start I am not an expert on this subject by any means. I am answering because I am getting ready to do a booster myself and have done a lot of research on it, including...

Re: Takes a while to smoothen out.

I guess I'm old fashioned. I always like to give my car a minute before I take off, especially with the Galaxie. Longer in winter.

Re: Rear Pinion Gears

Well I never come out to this site without learning something. The wide planetary gear option is totally new to me. Barring the cost difference would that be a better solution overall. Would it...

Rear Pinion Gears

I am considering changing the gearing out in the rear of my 1968 Galaxie 390/C6. I have researched it extensively and read more opinions that I can count. Of course each case/car is different. ...

Wheel Sizes

My apologies for the rookie questions but this wheel size thing is baffling to me. Looking for wheels for a 1968 Galaxie. The tires on it are P225/70R15. It currently has drum brakes all the way...
