use shims. lift your engine 1/4 inch and you will have clearance. and by the way, the engine bay measurements in your 64 are identical to the 65 mustang if my memory serves me correctly.

I suspect rings need replaced... The overall compression loss percentage is too excessive in my opinion to run it like this without it running like a jalopy....

The choke needs to be set Cold. The hot wire can come from ANY key on 12 volt source, and make sure the Ground is good to the choke housing.

OK I put my original TPS back in, set idle to 550-600 rpm, reset codes, drove it, code 23 is now GONE 8)

Now I get code 89 every time and I am unable to locate anything regarding this Exhaust...

code 23, Throttle sensor out of range, throttle set too high. I lowerd the idle to around 600 and cleared codes, started, idled, same code comes back, and it's a brand new 4 day old TPS

Good clean fuel no reason to think otherwise, been dry for 2 tanks now, Engine will rev as clutch is pushed in, if a fuel starvation issue I'd think it would continue to bog...
