Hi guys.
Were your headers painted/coated my guess would be that the warp holds moisture and if put away wet uncoated could causing them to rust out. I've had these headers for about 11 years on...

HI , NO the 78 stamped into the head would just be a casing number the head year well be on the outside exhaust side I believe and should be like DOVE (1970), or D2VE (1972) or D3VE (1973) and such.....
