Re: Looking for the best place to find 5 lug Spindles

Any spindle that fits a 65 Mustang fits a Falcon too. Later Mustang thru at least 69 will work, along with Maverick. I would say to go with a CSRP kit. Not necessarily the cheapest initial cost, but...

Re: 300hp 67 289 cam choice?

I would highly recommend going roller cam. Not worrying about a flat lobe is nice, but theyll make a little more power too. Id keep duration to about 210 or so @.050, no more than 215. Adjustable...

Re: Recommended V8 Engines.

I would grab a 5.0 from an Explorer. Don't worry about the P heads, you can use Sanderson ff3gts headers. Someone on another forum posted pics of these shorty headers (designed for P heads in a...

Re: First Post - Enjoy the new section!!!

I kept trying to hit "exit enhaced mobile view" before realizing it's just an updated look. Can we get the old one back?

Snap On mt2500 cartridges

I have an older snap on mt2500 scanner with horribly outdated cartridges. I think they cover up to 1998. I've been looking on ebay, and it looks like the last cartridge covers up to model year 2009,...

Quoted for sheer absurdity. :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Re: EFI back to Carb

Basically strip the new engine down to the bare long block, and put all the other stuff from the old engine onto the new one. That includes oil pan and pickup, timing cover, distributor, intake, etc....

Re: Roller cam advice, Please.

That would be a decent combination. Depending just what you want, the stock H.O. cam is going to be fairly short winded too, but a cheap upgrade from the truck cam. The 1.7 rockers will help...

Re: Runs rough, backfires, distributor problem?

The rotor is too tall? I figured if anything it would be too low or far away. Or maybe something else altogether.

Runs rough, backfires, distributor problem?

I have a fairly stock 302 in my 65 Comet thats running terrible. It started with a junk carb bought from a swap meet (who knew Holley made a carb without adjustable floats and no sight plugs?!) that...

Re: Explorer 5.0 cam

Its a great truck cam, but with 185/195ish duration, as David says, the show will be over quick. If youre thinking cheap, a stock H.O. cam (Mustang, MK7, T-bird) is around 205 at .050 with .445 lift...

Re: The fate of my 93' Bronco 302

I would start with the radiator. If it turns out to be the engine, you could swap in an Explorer 5.0. If you're lucky enough to find a 96 or early 97 with reasonable miles, they're a pretty good...

Re: Need help waking up a 66 f100

If you can get exhaust to fit, an Explorer 5.0 with P heads would be a nice upgrade for cheap, or even better, grab a mid to late 90s Windsor. A 5-speed would make a huge difference too. These are...

Re: Has anyone ever installed this particular kit?

I think I would go for the swap 4. Same basic setup, just uses newer Mustang dual piston aluminum calipers. They're super light and have a little more piston area for slightly better stopping.

Re: 68 falcon 4 lug drum to 5 lug disc conversion

Not true, all cars used the same brakes by that time. By 74 the Maverick/Comet had the same brakes regardless of engine. Versailles uses a bigger lower ball joint, so keep that in mind. Youll either...

Re: 3spd toploader vs 4 speed top loader vs T5

I kind of disagree. Blatantly obvious difference, no, but having driven the 2 cars about 2 years apart I still prefer the 2.95 first.

I spent the list price of $1600 on the trans, plus a...

Re: TKO 600 Hyd Clutch

If you don't have a problem with mechanical linkage, you could try replacing the pushrods with heim-jointed pieces. That's assuming your geometry is correct.

Re: 3spd toploader vs 4 speed top loader vs T5

From what I've read the "toploader imposter" is an ok trans, but definitely not as strong or as desirable as a regular toploader. I've done 2 t5 conversions now, and both have turned out great. The...

Re: 64 Ranchero Radiator

Are your pulleys standard size or underdrive?

Edit: Looked at your pictures, and they look like underdrive. I bet a stock Mustang crank pulley would fit. Theyre cheap and would be an easy way to...

I take it you don't plan on using an air filter though, do you?

Do you plan on reinforcing the shock tower, or just removing it and going with an M2 or...

Re: 64 Ranchero GTP Headers

I've heard they will, and I've heard they wont. Seems like it's a crap shoot, and it might be worth trying, but plan on them not fitting.

Re: GT40P heads Question

If the port work looks good and the rest of the parts are good, probably. They are decent heads, basically a newer version of the old 351w heads. The only real drawback is header fit because of the...

Re: 64 Ranchero GTP Headers

Sanderson makes a set that may or may not fit, but thats about it. This has been discussed many times on a different Falcon forum, and so far no one has a definite answer. You may be better off going...
