Re: I'm so inexperienced it's scary - '67 mustang

Post some pictures - good ones on all sides. Really need to see the condition before anyone can give you real advise. Once that is done we can start to give you more realistic expectations on what...

Re: Scarebird Front Disc Brake Installation (Picture Heavy)

No way am I paying $350/year for a service that's been free for 10 years. I'd pay like $5-$10 a month, but that's max.

Any-who - where there's a will there's a way.

Re: A/C for a 1966 Galaxie

No clue what model system I have under my dash. I can try to snap a few pictures for you since it's the same car. I know its a vintage air system. Be prepared to lose your glove box.

Re: A/C for a 1966 Galaxie

For mine I purchased the factory bracket off ebay and got a york to saden converter plate. Works great for me and was ~$60.

Re: A/C for a 1966 Galaxie

Didn't do it myself, but I have a vintage air kit in my 66'. Not really high power, it struggles to keep my black on black car cool at all on a hot day. Mine didn't have AC prior.

Classic Car Insurance

Looking for some input on who you guys use for insurance. Currently I have generic insurance on my 66' - which I understand will quickly screw me if something happens. While switching my main car...

Re: Rough Idle After WOT

Fuel pump was going out.

Have an inline fuel gauge on it and noticed yesterday that at idle it was bouncing from 2psi to 7psi. Revved the engine and it just bounced all over the place. Replaced...

Re: Electric Fans 1966 289

So I'm starting to get serious about doing this. How do I know how much draw of a fan my system can handle?

Rough Idle After WOT

Title says it all. Doesn't matter if I'm in park or driving. If I goose it and let off the idle is very rough for maybe 60 seconds and slowly recovers. Maybe my vacuum secondary is too rich? Any...

Re: Scarebird Front Disc Brake Installation (Picture Heavy)

I used all the stock linkage, however I have been looking at getting an adjustable push-rod to get the pedal a little bit higher.

I currently have my prop valve all the way open since I'm still...

Hello,

I just got done watching the most recent engine masters and they tested mechanically driven fans. It blew my mind that the same fan I am running drug down 30hp on the Chevy 350 they tested...

Re: Disc Brake Conversion Question

I did manual disc. Really not a huge improvement over stock drums other than safety and ease to work with.

Galaxie's For Sale/Auction

Found 2 coming up for sale. The 64' looks pretty nice, can't imagine it climbing very high.

The 68' would be a good parts car, interior looks mint.

Re: Revs in P/N, wont accelerate in Drive modes

Another NC guy!

So... what happens when you press the gas in drive.. Does the engine just start to bog and stall or does the engine rev normally and it just isn't moving.

Re: aluminum trim pieces restoring tricks

Cant speak to the repairs, however I soaked my trim in oven cleaner (think you're looking for LYE as the active ingredient), that stripped the coating, scuffed it to get the rest off and polished...

Re: Cruise-o Not Dropping When Stopped

You were 100% correct! Valve was not smooth at all, cleaned it up until it would slide freely. I had planned on doing a write up on how to do it, but it's too much of a pain to keep up with...
