  1. Aluminum vs cast Iron Intake torque

    All Ford Techboard
Great Thanks - 18 or 20 too much???. Makes sense - the manual speaks to 5 pound feet each time until you get to the max - probably because of the gasket flex. LBM:grin2:
  2. Aluminum vs cast Iron Intake torque

    All Ford Techboard
:smile2:OK - I did a few searches and printed off some threads and even pulled out my new bright red fomoco shop manual. Got the torque sequence down pat and the "cut the head off 4 - 4" or 5" bolts for corner guides trick dialed in. My manual says to torque the stock 2 bbl cast iron...

  4. Mustang Dash bezels & instruments into a 65 Falcon?

    Falcon Pages
I have a 65 Falcon 4 Door wagon. The PO put what he called a Mustang - maybe the same year 65?? Dash in the dash of the Falcon. I think the Falcon came with a long flat speedo cluster and the mustang has Round spedo and gauges. It doesn't look bad - but not sure it is fitting in the Dash...
  5. Clutch Fork Spring

    Falcon Pages
Re: Clutch Fork Return Spring???? Thanks - Yep - that is the same spring I ordered - just from Mac's. Should work fine. There is 2 stickers on the bag for the short spring I got - one on the front and one on the back of the bag. One says Clutch Fork Rod Retracting Spring and the other says...

  7. Clutch Fork Spring

Re: Clutch Fork Return Spring???? I'm surprised to not get an answer - maybe I'm not in the right section??? This is the old style Z bar style and does not use a cable - just linkage. It seems like if I put a spring going one way it will pull the fork into the throw out bearing and cause it...

I feel silly asking this - because I should Know - but I want to be sure. 65 Ford Falcon Station Wagon with a 302 and a 3 speed manual. Possibly a Mustang transmission & 302 but not sure. I was crawling around under the wagon today and happened to look at the clutch fork. I noticed there...

Ah - another rolling stone. I remember that Station - didn't know there was a house/appt there. I'm not sure I ever went to that station. I worked @ Johnny's Shell in Lompoc - It was on a corner across from the Shopping center - Don't remember the name of the cross street. I was the night...

As I remember Cabrillo was Mission Hills and VAFB. I moved to Lompoc in 1959 when Dad transfered to VAFB and I lived there to late 69 when I moved north to Susanville. I did go back to see the folks but never lived there or close again. Been a Rolling Stone ever since but at this point I'm in...

Lompoc Hi. If I remember right 68 was before Cabrillo was built and Lompoc and Cabrillo shared the Lompoc Campus. Lompoc went in the morning and Cabrillo went in the afternoon - but that might have been 67. I think the Graduating class at Lompoc was 600+ in 68 and dropped by about half in 69...
  12. 205-65/70- 15 tires on the front

    Falcon Pages
Thanks - I decided to go with 205/60-15s all the way around - about the same diameter as stock 14's and about 1/2" wider tread wise.. Finally switched to the chrome smoothies and with a tire off the rim measured it as 6" wide with 3 1/2" back spacing. With the tires on those wheels and...
  13. Holley Carb Accelerator pump

    Falcon Pages
Again very good info and the photos make it clearer. The .015 clearance which is achieved with the 1/2 - 5/8" spring measurement is basically pump arm free play and would be measured between the pump arm and the head of the spring bolt at WOT. Correct? For my needs I probably don't need...

I think I figured it out - set the spring length via the nut @ the bottom - tighten or loosen up. Still learning about Holleys
  15. Holley Carb Accelerator pump

    Falcon Pages
OK - so to adjust it is a factor of stretching it if you want the 5/8" or squish it if it is more then 1/2" or is it changing springs. Not understanding I did tighten down the spring to coil bind and I suspect it might be sacked out a bit. If it is sacked I can stretch it a bit to make it...
  16. Holley Carb Accelerator pump

    Falcon Pages
That is a good idea - I did tighten up the nut to try and get it to pump - probably did bend it - You are talking about the spring inside on the diaphragm correct - not the spring on the pump shaft-lever?
  17. Holley Carb Accelerator pump

    Falcon Pages
    Thanks I'll check those out.
  18. Holley Carb Accelerator pump

    Falcon Pages
OK That answers a lot. The pump does not move and is leaking a little bit. I found a diaphragm for under $5 with free shipping so I ordered it. I'll start with taking off the bowl and cleaning out the stuck shaft and looking at the needle and umbrella.. It's a brand new carb taken off a Chevy...
