+1 While I understand it becomes a economical decision to get away from managing a huge online community (time, money, hassle, etc), the core "community" seems to evolve/change or even dissolve when a large corporate entity takes the helm of good grass roots forum. Oh well, I hope FM Forums...
  2. Your Favorite Tool

    The Garage
I love my air tools & compressor as well as my 120v welder. However, I've been doing a lot of interior assembly lately, and I really like using my thumb ratchet. It works great in confined spaces. Everyone should have one of these in their tool box.

Thanks for all the replies, y'all. It's nice to hear your feedback. ..................... I believe that's correct... at least that's what the Borgeson people say. You'd just need to confirm the right size sector shaft (either 1" or 1 1/8" diameter). For a few reasons... 1) It would be...

falling off the deep end... So no one has done this mod around here? Looks like I might be breaking trail. If I go with this option, I'll post an update.
  5. Integrated Power Steering Box

    All Ford Techboard
I've been toying with the idea of adding power steering to my car lately, and previously I planned to save up for a full power rack & pinion system. However, I'm investigating a different route... ... by just replacing the steering box with a Borgeson PS steering box, adding a PS pump, hoses...

  7. 67 fastback overhead console install?

    Mustang Pages (1965-1973)
My car did not come with a overhead console, but I picked one up on eBay. Now that my headliner is in the car, I'm ready to install the overhead console. Here's my question... Do I need to cut relief holes in the headliner for the back of the map light housings, or do the map light housings...
  8. deciding on mufflers

    All Ford Techboard
I had SpinTechs installed on my 1967 Mustang that's powered by a hot 351w with 2.5" pipe, with X pipe, from headers all the way out back. The mufflers do sound and perform great... loud and mean with good throttle response. I really like the sound at idle to 1500 rpm, and the sound at WOT is...

  12. Tranny Rear Plug

    All Ford Techboard
I bought a complete set of plugs that had a wide range of plug sizes from NPD. The NPD part number is 902-4 for $12.95. I'm not exactly sure which size I used on the T5. Also, I wasn't completely confident that the plug would stay in on it's own, so I took some small gauge wire and ran it...
  13. Tranny Rear Plug

    All Ford Techboard
J just went through the same things, and I found some transmission plugs online. I don't remember where I purchased them, but I'll look at the receipt/brand when I get home. The plug worked like a charm on my t5. Since I installed my engine and trans as one assembled unit, it had to be at a...
  14. PCV Valve Location

    All Ford Techboard
Man, there's some great information here. I did't think I'd get this much helpful feedback. I think I get it... Fresh air is "pulled in" through the open breather, and with the vaccum of the carb pulling air from PCV valve, air is circulated through the engine block/crankcase. So I see that...
  15. PCV Valve Location

    All Ford Techboard
A PCV valve is not required on my 67. Howver, since my new engine came with a PCV valve installed, I thought I'd keep it just to be "green". I may try to use a different/smaller breather cap, but it still may interfer with the truss brace. Thanks for the reply.
  16. PCV Valve Location

    All Ford Techboard
All the pictures of SBFs seem to have the PCV valve located on the passenger side and the breather/fill cap on the driver side. However, I'd like to switch the PCV valve to the drivers side and move the breather oil fill cap to the passenger side, because of a clearance issue with my TCP monte...

    All Ford Techboard
smokey212, I have a few questions, becasue I'm toying with doing the same thing. Which cutouts did you install? Where did you get them? What did they cost? How long have you been running with cutouts? (wondering if there are any long term exhaust leak issues.)
