Canton Oil Pan

Hiya guys I've got a quick question about oil pans and windage trays.
I'm going to be purchasing a canton 7 quart road racing oil pan for my 331 and I wanted to find out if in addition to the crank scraper provided with the pan (part #15-644) if I should go ahead an purchase a windage tray as well.

The car will be mostly street driven, but it will be abused very hard a few times each year at drag strips, road courses, and autocrossing. Should I be worried about shortening the life of my engine because of a reduced amount of "splash lubrication", or is the windage tray nothing but beneficial?

Thanks guys

Re: Canton Oil Pan

There really is no downside to a tray other than the fact you'll have to run studs in at lest two main caps. If you're gonna do that then you may as well run studs in all of them and an align hone is in order.

Re: Canton Oil Pan

Canton also makes a nice main girdle/windage tray set up that works very well. That's what I'm running in mine.

Re: Canton Oil Pan

Canton & Windage tray & their stud girdle here too
Maybe a bit overkill, but as builder says, no such thing as being to strong bottom end espcially if you go over 6K on occasion
Cheap insurance & a simple bolt on
