Head search, Eagle 383 stroker kit.

Hello Ford Fans,

I have a 351W with the eagle stroker kit installed. (eagle p/n 16122). It has the Mahle 5cc pistons with the 2 valve reliefs cut out of them. I was wondering if anyone has used this particular kit and what kind of heads they used, or would recommend. Right now I am considering the Edelbrock performer RPM cylinder heads, but am not sure which diameter intake valve to go with. 2.02" or the 1.90" I understand I have to check clearance anyways, but was just wanting to see what other guys have went with. It will just be a street machine with moderate fun pedal use...

Cheers!

The new AFR 185 would be fine. To go with bigger heads will usually cost more. Whatever heads you decide to go with make sure the valve springs are compatible with your camshaft

Re: Head search, Eagle 383 stroker kit.

Recommendations for valve clearance depend on the camshaft timing. While your chances of finding someone with the same heads, cam lift and durations, and cam timing gear advance are slim, I would think a call to Eagle would at least get you some gneral recommendations based on cams and heads they or their customers have used.

those pistons have big valve reliefs so you can run the 2.02. unless your lift is over around 5.20" you should have a ton of clearance.

afr 185 as mentioned but if you are on a budget the performer rpms are ok.
