On my 61 Gal build, 429cj/C6 torque converter is the next purchase. What is the advantage (if there is one) of a 10" converter with the same stall value as a standard diameter one? Same manufacturer, $50.00 increase in price. Car will be used primarily as a street rod, virtually no strip time.

I believe it is primarily to allow the engine to rev faster due to the reduced moment of inertia. It is not a linear relationship with the radius (or diameter) so reducing the diameter can have significant benefits depending on where the mass is distributed.
