I've ran these wheels on plenty of old mustangs and never had a problem till now.

The car is a 68 with 205/60/15 in the front. Back space is standard 4.25". I had to use 5/16" spacers to get the wheels on and they are still an RCH off the ball joint. The A-arms have been lowered with a neg-wedge kit, but this has never caused a problem in the past with other cars. I talked to a couple of wheel manufacures and they say they'd never heard of anyone having this problem. They also said you can't make a Magnum 500 with a smaller back space.

Any ideas what could cause this? Could I have the wrong year upper/lower control arm?

You very well could have the wrong year upper controll arm. Many of them are very similar in outward appearance but there are minute length height and width diffrences, that's one reason I suppose....

you can get 3.75 backspace. However, I have 15 X 7 and 15 X8 magnums on my '68. I have 215/65 on the front and 245/60 on the rear...no problems.
