I am looking for a radio for a 1948-50 Ford pickup. I want a factory am model. I have been told that a 1951-52 Ford pickup radio is the same. Is this true? I did try a 1951-52 Ford in the dash of a 1948-50 Ford pickup and it seems to fit well. Did the 1948-50 radios have a seperate face plate or did the dial just stick out of the dash? If the 1948-50 Ford pickup radios are different from the 1951-52 Ford pickup radios, I would to see a photo of a 1948-50 Ford pickup radio. Thank you for your help.

A friend had both the 50 and 52, the radio's looked the same but the 50 had a sheet metal face plate that was screwed right into the dash to fill the opening. Looked kind of tacky and I'm not sure if it was factory or aftermarket. It was a nice sheet metal stamping and fit perfectly but just looked bad being screwed on from the front side.

The knobs were different on a 51 52 but still the same radio if you find a radio in a 49 50 car that will work also
