Good luck finding those sunvisor brackets for a convertable. From what I hear, they are next to impossible to find and if you do find them be ready to spend some $$$$$.
The convertible and hardtop visor brackets are different. I only have the numbers for the hardtop and are R= C3AB-6304122-C and L= C3AB-6304123-B. Hope this helps.
C8AE-H head is a '68 part. Some body might have just changed the heads, or maybe the whole engine. Is it still a FE engine block?? If you don't know how to tell, just look at the valve covers and see if they also cover part of the intake. The FE engines are the only ones that have intake manifolds partly covered by the valve covers. If it is a FE, then it could be any of the FE sizes as they all look the same on the outside. Only way to tell is to measure the bore and stroke. Could be a 352, 360, 390, 406, 410, 427, or 428. My money is on it still being a 390 as they were the most popular.
The correct carb for your car would be the Autolite 4100 4 barrel. Does your car have a 2 or 4 barrel carb on it now? How do you know that your carb is a '90s something carb? I thought that Ford stop using carbs in the mid '80s when they went to fuel injection, but maybe I am wrong.
If you can post up some pics of the engine and carb, I can tell you just what you have and if it is correct or not for your car.
By looking at the engine pic, it is still an FE engine. I am thinking that somebody just changed the whole engine. The '64 engine had the oil fill in the intake manifold and also didn't have any breathers on the valve covers. Yours has the '65 or newer style intake along with the breather valve covers. I know that there is some numbers on the block around where the oil filter adapter bolts to the block. Just can't remember if you can use these numbers to determine the engine size.
Pretty much all FE engine parts will fit on any FE engine so running your '68 heads on a '64 block would not be a problem if your block is still the '64 block.
That 4100 carb that you have will work just fine. Make sure that it has the 1.12 venturi size though. You should be able to see the stamp on the side that says 1.12. If it says 1.08 than it is a small block carb.
You mentioned that you are close to Seattle. What city do you live in?? I am not too far and live in Bonney Lake, but store my car in Burien. We will have to get together some time and go for a cruise. Shotrod (Deb) also has a '64 vert and is not very far away also. If you haven't seen the post yet, the Ford Muscle bbq is coming up July 14th. A lot of us from the area get together and have a good time. Hope to see you there.
P.S. There is a fellow in Lake Stevens I think it is, that sells 63/64 Galaxie parts. He lists stuff all the time on craigslist. May want to check him out if you need any parts.
