HI,
I have a 1964 6cyl. frame where the front cross member under rad support is completely rotted out.
I also have a 1964 v8 frame that is in great condition.

Going to be running a modified 390ci engine, will be doing suspension customization, air bags etc.

So, I read a long time ago that there are differences in 6cyl vs v8 frames vs convertibles. The convertibles have an X-frame for more strength.

I am not sure the differences of 6cyl vs v8 frame, other than fuel line runs up passenger side for 6cyl, and runs up drivers side for v8.

Question is, should I keep the 6cyl frame and fix it to keep weight down, or go with the good v8 frame since it is stronger?
If there is even a difference of weight and strength.

the radiator support isnt stuctural. as long as the crossmember under the engine is good, just fix the other part
