The hood I found for my 67f100 is pitted pretty bad…your efforts have inspired me to proceed with the sand and paint idea. Yours looks good.
Same here..I am no spring chicken and no show piece truck but hated to haul it to the junk heap. Dang its expensive to get it street legal and reasonably dependable. This is our third shot at “restoring it” so it’s proly just gonna be more “mod rod”. It pulls the two axel trailer with kabota with bush hog…so I figure good enough. Keep up the effort.thanks Masinc, hope it works out for you... i'm not building a show car & i'm sure a perfectionist will be able to pick my work apart... heck, i have a whole list of things i coulda woulda shoulda done differently, and i'm sure there will be more...

I keep pulling the same kind of critter nests out of new places in my old rig too. Wish we could have weighed the projects for a way to see how much accumulation has been added over the years. I take pressure washer to underside of mine every time I venture out to the shop and always get a new pile of dirt/grease on the concrete. Gotta be getting lighter…..proly fall all to pieces one of these trips.
I reused mine. It was pretty good shape but had 2 rust pinholes close together on the bottom. I drilled them up and made a backing plate for the inside. Welded nuts to the backing plate, saturated it with poly sealant, and snaked it into place with a piece of safety wire. Gooped up two machine screws and tightened it up.
I always try to remember that this old stuff was assembled by humans so I am confident I can get it back together. You are going to want all that interior out because it looks like that steel dash needs paint too. You can do it.
