Folks,

I've found out that Mustangs switched to glue-in windshields in 1969, but I've found a few passing references that other Ford models had glue-in windshields (sans gasket) as early as 1966. Ideas?

I'm looking into replacing the increasingly cobwebbed windshield on my Fairlane, and trying to figure how difficult it would be to do myself. So once the glue-in question is resolved, any advice on this would also be appreciated.

Thanks!

Ford Fairlane started glueing the front windshields in in 1967. The back window is in a gasket. I know, I just glued one in a 67 Lane.Remember to replace the cowling rubber strip gasket that lies just beneath the WS wiper cover. The old ones leaked causing premature floorboard rot.

Thanks for the info. I'll likely just have a shop do the install, but they also wanted to know if it was a glue-in or not. Apparently some shops don't want to deal with the old gasket type glass.
