Hi all,
I have a 69 Cougar with a 351W and currently have a 3speed toploader in it. Ive seen alot of T5 conversions but there is alot of confusion as well (for the '69s and 70's particularly).
I am hoping to get your help to clear my confusion.
1. I have a 164 tooth flywheel and the bellhousing for it. For those who dont know, theres a 157 tooth flywheel and it's associated bellhousing. the 164 tooth flywheel has the "bigger bellhousing".
Question: can the T5 bolt up to this bellhousing and work as intended? Or do I need to get a "special" bellhousing to accommodate.
My goal is to find out whether I can use my existing bellhousing, flywheel, clutch "stuff" and just unbolt the 3spd and bolt in the t5 (perhaps with an adapter plate).
Everything is factory on the car. 28oz-in balanced flywheel, 11-inch clutch, mechanical linkage to actuate clutch fork.
Please advise,
Andrew
