Anyone know the origonal cam specs (dur., dur. @ /.050 & valve lift) for a 1970 351C 4V as in a Mach 1? I am running a Comp Cams 280H Magnum with 230 degrees @.050 and .530 lift 110 degree lobe sep. Is this less cam than factory? What is the hot street cam for this engine? mine idles great with strong midrange and not enough top end. Stock 4V heads and intake, hooker comp headers, holley 750 vac sec carb.

There is a great book with all of these types of specs. Not avail to me at this moment. It is called Ford Performance. Has 260-302,FE,351C specs. If I get a chance I can look up later.

I just checked at the NHRA spec site and it shows a 70 351C 4V as having a hyd cam with 427/453 lift. They do not list the duration but in the Crane Cams web site they list the 71 HO cam with 481/490 or something close lift and 206/220 @.50 on duration. So I would think that the 70 351C cam would look something like 427/453, 206/220 at the most. I run a PAW cam of 510/536 and 214/224 @.50 and it seems to be a good all around street cam, Loads of torque off the line and pulls good to 5200 with a performer and 750 vac. Holley....Bob

The how to rebuild your ford V8 book says it's .247/.247 - .427/.427 And the HO was a solid lifter cam.
