I just installed the Holley Street Avenger on my 351W 2 barrel intake using 1) an adapter plate with 2) a 1" spacer and 3) a Holley Street Avenger 4 barrel carb. Why doesn't my kickdown linkage reach the kickdown level on the throttle shaft? My carb is about 1" higher with the throttle shaft still it looks at the center of the carb, basically where it was before, but the linkage "arm" from the transmission just does not budge another 1 or 2 inches to reach. I took out the small screw on the Holley know as the "lock-out" screw. Here's a link to the instructionS for the Holley and info is at the bottom of page 4.

I intalled the 1" spacer since the Spector brand adapter did not 100% cover the bottom of my carb, exposing about 1% of a vacuum "pocket", so I added the spacer to solve the coverage problem.

You need the kick down extension. The linkage connection is in a different position than with the old 2V carb. I installed a Street Avenger on the 351W in my car, so I've BTDT.
